The Writing Rainbow

  • Northeast Regional Library 14401 Green Elm Lane Raleigh, NC, 27614 United States (map)

🌈 Welcome to The Writing Rainbow, Queerolina's new writing critique group! Local writers and poets across all genres can join us for lively discussions, creative feedback, and a community that encourages you to shine your brightest! ✍️✨

Registration for February will open January 13th.

When registering, you’ll be prompted to submit a brief (<2,100 words) essay, story, poem, excerpt, or other written work on this month’s theme: amatonormativity. On January 26th, you’ll receive all other writers’ submissions and have two weeks to read, critique, and prepare feedback for each work.

Every meeting starts with a warm-up free write, followed by a lecture or discussion on the topic of the month. After the discussion, we’ll then share the feedback we’ve prepared.

Our goal is to create a engaging community of queer and queer-friendly writers to support one another’s work, lift each other’s voices, and help each of us grow as writers. Allies and questioning are welcome here - there is no “queer enough” test to belong!
